A leading accessibility consulting firm is seeking an experienced individual to support Section 508 compliance efforts. The role involves serving as a client liaison, drafting policies, and providing consultation throughout the software development life cycle. What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Serve as a client liaison to provide guidance for Section 508 compliance and Trusted Tester methodologies
- Draft and maintain Section 508 policy and process documentation
- Provide consultation services throughout the software development and procurement lifecycle to ensure delivery of Section 508 conformant products
- Validate reported Section 508 issues and provide direction to IT Accessibility Specialists
- Develop and deliver Virtual Instructor-Led Training (VILT) events on Section 508 web/application accessibility standards
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Section 508 compliance/accessibility program office
- At least 2 years of experience creating Section 508 policy and integrating new guidelines into existing policy
- A minimum of 3 years of experience evaluating, documenting, reporting, and validating ICT for Section 508 compliance
- Must be a U.S. citizen and able to acquire IT level I federal clearance
- DHS Trusted Tester certification (or willingness to quickly obtain)
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 4 to 6 years of experience working in the accessibility field
- Experience with assistive technologies across multiple platforms, including screen readers and magnification tools
- Familiarity with web software development (i.e., PowerApps, HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript)
- Effective working experience with a variety of accessibility verification tools and standards
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows 11, Microsoft 365 Office Suite, and accessibility software
