UI/UX Tech Lead

Project Overview
You will join a high-impact initiative focused on the clean energy and solar manufacturing ecosystem. As the UI/UX Tech Lead, you will be the bridge between design vision and technical execution. The project involves managing a multi-product ecosystem (including proprietary tools like Bid Optimizer and Helios), ensuring a cohesive, high-quality user experience across all platforms. You’ll be tasked with scaling a robust design system and leading a distributed pool of UI engineers to deliver clean, accessible, and high-performing interfaces that drive the future of sustainable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Alignment: Act as the primary counterpart to the client’s UX Architect to align on design system evolution, UX standards, and cross-product governance.
- Technical Leadership: Lead and coordinate a pool of UI engineers across multiple project streams, ensuring high-quality implementations and technical consistency.
- Design System Governance: Drive the adoption of the design system and promote component reuse to ensure scalability across the entire application portfolio.
- Quality & Review: Review and approve UI implementations, support prototyping, UX flows, and interaction design decisions to meet elite usability standards.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Engineering, and PM teams to define priorities and translate complex UX visions into implementable UI solutions.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor UI developers and junior designers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
Must-Have Skills
- 6–10+ years of experience in UX/UI or Senior Frontend Engineering roles.
- Advanced Frontend Expertise: Proficiency in React, HTML5, and CSS/SCSS.
- Design Systems: Proven experience in the creation, governance, and technical implementation of enterprise-level design systems.
- UX Foundations: Deep understanding of user flows, usability principles, and web accessibility (WCAG).
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage stakeholders in complex environments.
- Experience in Agile teams and remote-first environments.
- Fluent English for daily technical communication and documentation.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working with enterprise platforms or complex multi-product ecosystems.
- Exposure to energy, analytics, or data visualization platforms.
- Hands-on experience with design tools such as Figma or Sketch.
- Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environments.
- Prior experience in nearshore or globally distributed teams.
Time Zone & Collaboration
The role requires collaboration with teams aligned to Central Time (CT). Candidates must be based in LATAM and able to provide full coverage during standard US Central business hours to ensure real-time synchronization with the client's core team.
