Position: Yard Supervisor

Location: Khalifa Bin Salman Port, Bahrain

Reports to: Shift Superintendent / Shift Manager

As a Yard Supervisor, you will be a key operational link between vessel operations, yard activities, and tower control to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient terminal operations. The role involves coordinating resources, enforcing safety protocols, and maintaining productivity across all yard functions during the assigned shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the bridge between yard operations, tower control, and vessel teams to support seamless cargo movement and turnaround.
• Lead and allocate shift personnel effectively, ensuring optimal deployment under the guidance of the Shift Superintendent/Manager.
• Monitor equipment such as tractor units and RTGs to ensure correct utilization and minimize idle time.
• Enforce and monitor adherence to terminal traffic flow protocols to ensure safe and efficient yard operations.
• Ensure safe working conditions by strictly enforcing HSE guidelines and operational procedures at all times.
• Maintain continuous operations during shift transitions, ensuring no disruption in service levels.
• Supervise and guide the yard team to meet productivity and safety standards, resolving real-time issues as needed.
• Uphold and implement all APM Terminals Bahrain policies, procedures, and operational protocols.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in port/terminal operations, preferably in yard or shift supervisory roles.
• Strong understanding of container terminal operations and equipment handling (e.g., RTGs, terminal tractors).
• Proactive mindset with the ability to lead frontline teams in a dynamic, high-pressure environment.
• Sound knowledge of HSE practices and safety-first approach to operations.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to coordinate across departments.
