LIS Solutions is seeking a CAT II Persian Farsi Linguist to support CENTCOM II Linguist Support. The role requires an active SECRET clearance and fluency in English with proficiency in SCRL languages.

The linguist will perform transcription, translation, and interpretation across diverse technical, legal, and cultural materials in a CENTCOM-focused environment. Locations may include Jordan and other CENTCOM AOR sites.

Formación

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Fluency in English and proficiency in SCRL language(s), including strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven experience in transcription, translation, and interpretation, with a minimum of 1 year in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of cultural and ethnic contexts related to SCRL language(s), demonstrating idiomatic expressions, colloquialisms, and slang.
• Ability to conduct accurate and idiomatic translations of non-technical materials between English and SCRL language(s).
• Strong research and analytical skills to perform document exploitation and extract key information meeting military intelligence requirements.
• Familiarity with professional fields such as medicine, science, engineering, law, etc., to provide specialized information when translating/interpreting technical content.
• Knowledge of security protocols and ability to ensure confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in relevant software applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Translation: provide written translations of source texts into English with meaning preserved.
• Interpretation: provide interpreters who have a command of English and target languages.

Program Overview

United States Central Command (CENTCOM) II- Linguist Support is an operational-level Army force that is designated by the Secretary of the Army, as the Army Service Component Command of United States Central Command. On behalf of the Secretary of the Army and through the Chief of Staff of the Army, USARCENT exercises administrative control of all U.S. Army forces in the Middle East and Central Asia - which includes supplying, equipping, training, servicing, administrating, and maintaining forces.

Roles & Responsibilities

To provide accurate, complete, and trusted interpretation and/or translation of data from a variety of Specified Contract Required Language(s) (SCRL) in support of customer’s mission. Linguists shall cover a wide range of styles and subjects. Typical examples would include contracts and laws; treaties and international agreements on technical, scientific, military, economic, and cultural subjects; training manuals; court documents; political speeches and position papers; slide presentations; and official correspondence between Government leaders.

Linguists Will Be Responsible For The Following

• Transcription. The contractor shall provide written translations of aural, videotape, and/or other sources from one language into another language, with the meaning and intent of the original source preserved. Services shall include transcription of aural sources by technically qualified and experienced translators at the level of competency required.
• Translation. The contractor shall provide written translations of source texts in one language into English with the meaning and intent of the original text (Translation). Services shall include translation of documentation by technically qualified and experienced translators at the level of competency required.
• Interpretation: The contractor shall provide Interpreters who have a command of English and the target language(s).
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance

• Familiarity with professional fields such as medicine, science, engineering, law, etc., to provide specialized information when translating or interpreting technical content.
• Knowledge of security protocols and ability to ensure compliance with confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in relevant software applications.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
