A defense contractor is seeking skilled Linguists to join their team in Bahrain. The role involves providing interpretation, transcription, and translation services from Arabic and Farsi into English. Ideal candidates will be proficient in these languages with cultural knowledge. Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship are required. This full-time position supports ongoing U.S. operations and mission requirements.

Qualifications

• Native proficiency in Arabic Modern Standard and Farsi preferred.
• Experience operating within local cultures and populations.
• Secret Clearance required.
• Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in standard dialect and vocabulary.
• Familiarity with the local culture and customs; ability to operate within the local populace.
• U.S. citizen; Secret Clearance.

Responsabilités

• Conduct accurate translation and interpretation of languages.
• Translate English syntax and slang into Arabic and Farsi.
• Provide cultural advice on statements and documents.
• Provide advice on cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, and documents.
• Accurately scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents.

Overview

Valiant is seeking skilled Linguists to provide interpretation, transcription, and translation services in support of ongoing and new U.S. operations and mission requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate and consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation from Arabic Modern Standard and Farsi into English
• Translate various syntax and expressions to include colloquial and slang phrases from English to Arabic Modern Standard, Farsi and vice versa
• Work and travel in austere environments
• Provide advice on cultural and ethnic significance of statements, conversations, situations, and documents
• Accurately scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents
• Other related tasks as assigned

Position requirements

• Proficiency in Modern Standard Arabic, Farsi, and English (ILR Level 3/3, native proficiency preferred)
• Extensive knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic and Farsi culture with previous work in the region (native familiarity preferred)
• Experience interpreting and translating Modern Standard Arabic and Farsi into English
• Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in standard dialect and vocabulary, rarely requiring paraphrasing or explanation
• Familiarity with the local culture and customs with the ability to operate within the local populace
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Secret Clearance
