Job summary

Tanqeeb seeks an experienced Senior Internal Auditor to evaluate risk management, project controls, and governance across heavy marine repair, conversion, and engineering operations.

You will lead risk-based audits of shipyard safety, environmental compliance, and subcontractor management, applying CIA or ISM internal audit standards. The role requires a decade in marine operations with strong analytical skills and integrity to protect stakeholders’ interests.

Qualifications

• 10 years in marine operations, shipping logistics, or offshore construction, oil & gas, with at least 4 years in managerial capacity.
• CIA with supplementary credentials like ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CISA, or ISM Internal Auditor.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Marine Engineering, or Maritime Studies.

Responsibilities

• Risk Management & Controls: Develop the annual internal audit plan, test internal financial controls, and track corrective actions
• HSE & Compliance Oversight: Assess adherence to marine environmental regulations, ISO standards, and shipyard safety protocols
• Subcontractor & Procurement Review: Audit vendor selection, third-party contractor performance, and purchasing workflows for specialized marine equipment
• Project & Operations Auditing: Review ship repair project estimating, contract variations, milestone billings, and material usage/scrap management.
• Audit Execution: Lead end-to-end audit engagements, from annual planning and fieldwork to detailed reporting for senior management and the Board Audit Committee.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify operational, financial, and safety vulnerabilities across fleet management, offshore construction, or logistics.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of risk-based auditing, data analytics tools, and technical report writing
