Job summary

WaveWorks in Al-Malikiyah, Bahrain, seeks a motivated Library Assistant to support daily library operations, assist patrons, and help maintain our collection in a fast-paced environment.

You will handle circulation, shelving, cataloging, and program support while delivering excellent customer service and teamwork. A high school diploma is required; college degree is a plus. Accommodation is provided with salary of $1800 per month.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree in Library Science or related field preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and online databases.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be physically able to lift boxes or books weighing up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the circulation of library materials, including checking in and out books, shelving returned items, and maintaining accurate records
• Provide excellent customer service to library patrons by answering questions, offering assistance, and providing information about library resources
• Help with cataloging new materials and maintaining the organization of the library collection
• Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and order of the library space
• Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events
• Stay up-to-date on current trends in literature and technology to make recommendations for new acquisitions
