Job summary

Flyper seeks a Library Assistant for the Al-Malikiyah library in Bahrain to support the Librarian with daily operations and deliver friendly, knowledgeable service to patrons. You will help visitors locate materials, check items in and out, shelve books, maintain displays and assist with programs and technology use.

Ideal candidates have customer-service experience; familiarity with library systems and cataloging is a plus, and strong communication is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a library or customer service is preferred.
• Knowledge of library systems and cataloging is a bonus.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining an organized and welcoming atmosphere in the library.
• Help patrons locate materials and provide recommendations based on their interests.
• Check materials in and out, process holds, and collect fines as needed.
• Conduct routine shelving, shelf reading, and inventory tasks to ensure accurate collection organization.
• Assist with creating displays and promoting library programs.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning books, shelves, and equipment.
• Provide support for technology use including computers, printers, and other library equipment.
