Job summary

Bilfinger Engineering Middle East is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer in Bahrain to support mechanical design and project execution. You will ensure deliverables meet project specifications and international standards.

The role involves assisting senior engineers, preparing drawings, specs, datasheets, and coordinating with piping, process, and electrical teams, while following HSE and quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial or engineering consultancy projects.
• Experience in FEED, detailed engineering or EPC/EPCM projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineers in the execution of mechanical engineering projects.
• Prepare and review mechanical drawings, calculations, specifications and datasheets.
• Support equipment selection and preparation of mechanical equipment specifications.
• Assist with engineering activities for pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers and other mechanical equipment.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documents and equipment data.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in preparation of material requisitions, equipment datasheets and technical bid evaluations.
• Support procurement by responding to technical queries and reviewing vendor submissions.
• Provide technical support during construction, inspection, commissioning and site activities when required.

Job Purpose

To provide engineering support for mechanical design and project execution activities, ensuring that engineering deliverables are prepared in accordance with project specifications, applicable international standards, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial or Engineering Consultancy projects.
• Experience in FEED, detailed engineering or EPC/EPCM projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
• Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards such as ASME, API, ASTM and ISO.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and piping interfaces.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with engineering software is an advantage.
• Good English communication and technical report-writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Bahrain/GCC project experience is an advantage.
