Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer in Bahrain to support mechanical design and project execution, ensuring deliverables meet project specifications and international standards.

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2–5 years in Oil & Gas or industrial projects is required; FEED/detailed engineering or EPC experience is a plus. Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ASTM and ISO codes, plus AutoCAD and MS Office, and solid English communication are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial or Engineering Consultancy projects.
• FEED, detailed engineering or EPC/EPCM experience is preferred.
• Good knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
• Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM and ISO codes.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and piping interfaces.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with engineering software is an advantage.
• Good English communication and technical report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineers in the execution of mechanical engineering projects.
• Prepare and review mechanical engineering drawings, calculations, specifications and datasheets.
• Support equipment selection and preparation of mechanical equipment specifications.
• Assist with engineering activities for pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers and other mechanical equipment.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documents and equipment data.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in preparation of material requisitions, equipment datasheets and technical bid evaluations.
• Support procurement by responding to technical queries and reviewing vendor submissions.
• Provide technical support during construction, inspection, commissioning and site activities when required.
• Participate in site visits, walkdowns and punch-list activities.
• Assist in resolving technical queries and engineering issues.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed schedules.
• Follow company HSE and quality requirements.

Job Purpose
