Job summary

Bilfinger is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer in Bahrain who will provide engineering support for mechanical design and project execution, ensuring deliverables meet project specs and international standards, while coordinating with multiple disciplines.

You will assist with drawings, specifications, datasheets, vendor reviews, and equipment selections, gaining exposure to pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, and EPC/EPCM projects in oil & gas. Strong teamwork and adherence to HSE are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial or Engineering Consultancy projects.
• Experience in FEED, detailed engineering or EPC/EPCM projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
• Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards such as ASME, API, ASTM and ISO.
• Knowledge of mechanical equipment and piping interfaces.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; familiarity with engineering software is an advantage.
• Good English communication and technical report-writing skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
• Bahrain/GCC project experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead/Senior Mechanical Engineers in the execution of mechanical engineering projects.
• Prepare and review mechanical engineering drawings, calculations, specifications and datasheets.
• Support equipment selection and preparation of mechanical equipment specifications.
• Assist with engineering activities for pumps, compressors, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers and other mechanical equipment.
• Review vendor drawings, technical documents and equipment data.
• Coordinate with Process, Piping, Civil & Structural, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and interdisciplinary coordination.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project specifications, applicable codes and standards.
• Assist in preparation of material requisitions, equipment datasheets and technical bid evaluations.
• Support procurement by responding to technical queries and reviewing vendor submissions.
• Provide technical support during construction, inspection, commissioning and site activities when required.
• Participate in site visits, walkdowns and punch-list activities.
• Assist in resolving technical queries and engineering issues.
• Maintain project documentation and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed schedules.
• Follow company HSE and quality requirements.

Job Purpose
