Job description

The hostess is responsible for delivering great service to all guests, being knowledgeable and professional in doing so. The hostess is mostly responsible for receiving and seating the guests and having good communication with service and kitchen team members about the guests.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet guests politely and enthusiastically as they enter the restaurant
  • Courteously and consciously guide guests to their assigned tables
  • Monitor guest waiting lists and estimate guest wait times
  • Record and monitor reservations
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of team members and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by team members and guests.
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and team members in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
  • Comply with Wyndham Hotels & Resorts Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
  • Effectively handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them as necessary.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and oral communication in English and Arabic.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Working computer skills and knowledge.
  • Able to work calmly and confidently under pressure.
