Job summary

GFH Alia National School in Bahrain is seeking a Head of Early Years to lead Nursery, KG1 and KG2, ensuring a safe, nurturing and academically strong start for every child. You will oversee teaching, staff performance, curriculum implementation, wellbeing, and parental engagement to drive continuous improvement in the Early Years department.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in Early Years.
• Experience in leadership, coordination, or supervisory roles.
• Strong knowledge of child development and Early Years pedagogy.
• Experience with assessment, curriculum planning, and student progress monitoring.
• Strong communication, organisation, and staff-management skills.
• Commitment to inclusive education.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear leadership and direction for Nursery, KG1, and KG2.
• Lead the Early Years teaching team, assistants, shadow teachers, and support staff.
• Establish high expectations for teaching quality, safeguarding, behaviour, and student care.
• Oversee curriculum planning and progression of Early Years learners.
• Monitor lesson planning, delivery, and student progress.
• Support parents with information on development and progress.
• Collaborate with SEN and therapy teams to support inclusion.
