Job description

Company Description

Mantis is a leading, conservation-focused hotel group with eco-lodges, waterways and curated eco-resorts located all over the world. Sustainable travellers have been enjoying eco-tourism, safaris and adventure travel with Mantis since 2000. Rooted in conservation, Mantis pursues sustainable business practices and develops tourism products that are respectful of the environment and communities in which they operate. Whether small and intimate or vast and complex, on a sweeping African plain, beach-side escape or bustling city, each is an exceptional place for guests to find themselves. While uniquely different in the experiences they offer, all are linked through a collective obsession to be extraordinary, to be rare in a world that mass-produces sameness.

Job Description
Graphic Designer

As a Graphic Designer, you will craft compelling visuals for both print and digital mediums, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines and the hotel's positioning. Your role includes conceptualizing and designing diverse marketing materials, maintaining awareness of design and hospitality trends, and collaborating with teams to meet deadlines. You will support campaigns across departments, especially in social media and mobile marketing, while analyzing market trends. Additionally, you will manage e-tools, contribute to web strategy development, and provide professional service. Collaboration with Sales & Marketing is key for driving profit growth, alongside fulfilling ad-hoc responsibilities within hotel protocols.

What Is In It For You
  • Engage in conservation efforts and help preserve wildlife.
  • Enjoy sustainable adventures with exclusive rewards.
  • Celebrate locality and heritage in a vibrant community.
  • Advance your career with global development opportunities.
  • Drive change through impactful social initiatives.
  • Collaborate with a passionate, innovative team.
Key Responsibilities
  • Graphic Design and Branding: Developing and delivering high-quality graphic designs for print and digital channels, adapting creative concepts to various materials and mediums, while ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and hotel positioning. It also involves conceptualizing, directing art, and designing artwork and collateral.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating closely with the team and other graphic designers to conceptualize ideas and execute accordingly, as well as liaising with suppliers and production companies to ensure accuracy and high-quality printed materials. Additionally, supporting the team throughout campaign and project execution and assisting with other responsibilities in the absence of team members or as assigned by the direct in-charge are key aspects.
  • Deadline Management and Support: Ensuring all artwork is submitted within specified deadlines and supporting all departments with design requests and execution, particularly for social media, mobile marketing, tracking, analysis, and control.
  • Market Analysis and Strategy: Gathering and analyzing intelligence on market threats and opportunities, building a destination-focused web strategy, and stimulating support for the development of the hotel's online strategy.
  • Technology Management: Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of design and hospitality software, technologies, trends, and updates, as well as managing various e-tools such as eCRM, CMSs, and social media management platforms.
  • Customer Service and Profit Growth: Consistently offering professional, friendly, and engaging service, executing design plans in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing department to drive profit growth, and adhering to all hotel policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Technical Skills and Design Expertise: Proficient in graphic design software including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Flash), MS Office, Corel Draw, and Acrobat. Strong technical understanding of web technologies (HTML, Flash, CSS, AJAX) and printing processes for both digital and print mediums. Creative design skills adaptable to current trends, brand standards, and market demands.
  • Project Management and Attention to Detail: Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks of varying complexities, meet deadlines, and remain composed under pressure. Strong project management skills with excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Communication, Language, and Qualifications: Excellent organizational and communication skills. A degree in Graphic Design and/or proven experience in a similar role. Previous experience within the GCC region is highly preferred, with prior experience in the hospitality or luxury sector considered a strong advantage. Good understanding of luxury brand standards and environments. About Mantis Collection:

Mantis is a boutique hospitality group that was founded by conservationist Adrian Gardiner in 2000, with its main focus predominantly in Africa and the Middle East. Mantis grew from Adrian’s vision to restore and rewild degraded farmland which he developed into a widely-acclaimed Private Game Reserve. This was the first private game reserve in the Eastern Cape and the beginning of eco-tourism in a poverty-stricken province that had few opportunities outside of commercial farming. Adrian and the Mantis team successfully created a place where man and nature could co-exist sustainably. From this initial success, the Mantis model was then developed worldwide, understanding that consumers could use the Mantis portfolio as a mark of quality, consistency and character. Today the diverse portfolio of handpicked properties links up to create travel journeys, which offer guests the opportunity to experience the essence of the location in a setting of tailored luxury. Rooted in conservation, Mantis pursues sustainable business practices and develops tourism products that are respectful of the environment and communities in which they operate.
