Job summary

Advanced Search is seeking an operational technician to assist in safe and efficient plant operation to meet production targets. You will perform routine tasks under supervision, ensuring safety and procedural standards are followed.

You will monitor process equipment, support start-ups/shutdowns, and assist with maintenance and handovers, contributing to reliable and trouble-free operations in a hot, humid plant environment.

Qualifications

• Technical degree in Industrial Processes, Chemical, Petroleum or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of experience in a similar Oil & Gas role.
• Familiar with plant equipment, processes and ongoing activities.
• Basic understanding of Plant PFDs, P&IDs, drawings and Fire & Gas philosophy.
• Computer proficiency and good working knowledge of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating and monitoring process equipment ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Monitor equipment parameters and report abnormalities to supervisors.
• Support start-ups and shutdowns as directed.
• Conduct basic operational and maintenance checks under supervision.
• Assist in preparing equipment for maintenance, including isolation and decontamination.
• Ensure timely handover of information to the next shift team.
• Identify unsafe conditions and report to supervisors.
• Able to work at different locations as needed.
• Safely handle chemicals, lubricants, and coolants and collect samples as directed.
