Job description

Cake Artist is a culinary professional responsible for turning a simple cake into a mountain of confectionary perfection.

Responsibilities:
  • Knowledge of using all the equipment and tools needed by a Cake Artist, in a safe manner. Report any equipment breakdown or any adjustments to Executive Sous Chef.
  • Maintains all of the orders and functions by checking and executing all the details as requested by clients.
  • Possesses strong illustration of his visual skills.
  • Excellent carving skills on any material used in the cake artistry process.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry and cake decorations.
  • Maintains the Daily Order Inventories of all materials for the colouring, sugar dough, cakeboard and utensils, to ensure the availability of all products and materials.
  • Secures the Company’s image and reputation by following all products quality measurements.
  • Maintains a clean and safe working area at all times.
  • Ensure that the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures are followed at all times.
  • Keeps abreast of latest cake designs on the market.
  • Minimise wastage at all times.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the senior members of the Bakery Staff.
  • Deputise in the absence of the Chef de Partie and take charge of the Section.
