Chief Geoscientist Leader - Manama - beBee Careers

This role involves leading geological projects and developing subsurface understanding of petroleum systems, utilizing advanced geoscientific knowledge and expertise.

Main Responsibilities:

• Build comprehensive conceptual models by integrating well data, rock analysis, seismic and non-seismic interpretations, and other geological and geophysical data.
• Evaluate and update geological basin models through the integration of diverse datasets, ensuring accuracy and precision.
• Gain a deeper understanding of reservoir properties by interpreting and evaluating well data, including wireline logs, mud and gas logs, and rock analysis studies.
• Leverage expertise in sedimentology and mineralogy to develop structural and stratigraphic models for reservoirs and plays of interest.
• Analyze available data to develop depositional models for various formations and reservoirs, and identify key factors influencing their development.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of various plays and reservoirs through core, cuttings, and fluid lab analysis studies, providing valuable insights for future exploration and production.
• Evaluate geological risks for different leads, prospects, and plays, using a combination of scientific knowledge and industry expertise.
• Coordinate drilling operations, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Geosciences or Earth sciences with specialization in geology and/or sedimentology.
• At least 15 years of experience in applied geology in the oil industry, demonstrating a strong track record of success.
• Excellent spoken and written English skills, coupled with strong data integration abilities and proficiency in interpretation applications (Petrel, Techlog, and Geox).
