Looking for an enthusiastic Design Engineer interested in working in a factory.
Responsibilities:
- Create technical and detailed design drawings using CAD software applications with virtual models and plans to ensure precision to the smallest details.
- Develop design flows, create backup files to prevent data loss, review tools, and select specific software for design functionality.
- Produce designs that meet targets for feasibility, performance, costs, quality, safety, legislation and timing.
- Interact with Management and the Senior Manager Design, as necessary to obtain critical design information necessary to complete project within intended time frame.
- Create schematics, flow charts, and diagrams of design concepts and update and maintain product design files by coordinating filing and structured storage for easy retrieval of drawings.
- Assist in improving daily processes to ensure that the CAD systems meet customer requirements.
- Test new designs through computer simulations already in use (e.g. CFD, strength analysis) or future developments before building prototypes.
- Build prototypes by using the 3D printers or CNC machines and make improvements to the drawings based on prototype inspection.
- Confirm the final drawings and send them to the supplier creating the mold and communicate with the supplier for technical topics.
- Inspect and confirm molds, tooling and fixtures before going into production.
- Develop and maintain codes for 3D printers, CNC machine and numerical control machines.
- Follow complex instructions and diagrams to create or modify drawings by taking verbal direction and implementing into sketches and calculations to produce the final work.
- Provide inputs on making improvements in the factory, related to replacement of failed parts, creation of new procedures and design of new jigs for new machines.
- Carry out research on new techniques in production, new systems inside product, and new production processes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to drive innovation and efficiency.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable University.
- Minimum two to four years’ experience of demonstrated relevant experience in surface design with Solidworks or equivalent, 3D printing, injection molding, thermoforming or CNC.
- Able to communicate in written and spoken English.
- Should be conversant with Microsoft office products such as MS word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other systems used by RFI.
- Knowledge of CAD systems.
- Spatial imagination and methodical understanding.
- Self-motivated and performance driven.
- Willing to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Tact, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
- Good communication, interpersonal and analytical skills with a structured detailed focused approach.
