Job Title: Director of Sales and Marketing

The director of Sales and Marketing is responsible for developing and executing strategic sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth, enhance the market share and presence. The incumbent will lead the sales and marketing team, managing marketing campaigns, and establishing strong relationships with clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve commercial goals.
  2. Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.
  3. Lead, train, and motivate the sales team to meet and exceed revenue targets.
  4. Establish sales targets, monitor performance, and provide coaching and support.
  5. Oversight of marketing campaigns including digital marketing, social media, and traditional advertising.
  6. Collaboration with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and content.
  7. Building and maintaining relationships with key clients, corporate accounts, and industry partners.
  8. Conduct post meeting evaluations.
  9. Representation at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
  10. Collaboration with the revenue management team to optimize pricing and inventory strategies.
  11. Leading public relations efforts on behalf of the hotel, developing and implementing PR initiatives.
  12. Building relationships with local media across key segments and maintaining a database of journalists and other influencers.
  13. Development of an activity schedule incorporating events, press releases and other announcements linked to key hotel events and activities.
  14. Response to media enquiries and information requests.
  15. Organization of incoming media, influencer groups and other individual visits to the hotel.
  16. Planning and management of internal communication and awareness of corporate direction, mission aims and activities.
  17. Support for ongoing, focused community relations programs strategically planned to support and enhance the area marketing efforts.
  18. Monitoring of booking trends and adjustment of marketing efforts accordingly.
  19. Preparation of regular reports on sales and marketing performance, including ROI analysis for campaigns.
  20. Utilization of data-driven insights to refine strategies and improve results.
  21. Management of the sales and marketing budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
  22. Updating of hotel rates in major distribution channels and travel agents/tour operators.
  23. Monitoring of expenses and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  24. Recruitment, training, and development of sales and marketing staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  25. Fostering a collaborative and results-oriented team environment.
  26. Training of hotel team to drive revenue.
  27. Maintenance of compliance with Wyndham's brand marketing guidelines.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Hotel Management, or related field.
  2. MBA preferred.
  3. 2 years of experience as a Director of Sales or Director of Marketing within a similar type of hotel.
