Job summary

Grant Thornton - Bahrain is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organization in Bahrain's insurance broker sector. The role requires extensive senior leadership experience and a deep understanding of financial services, governance, and regulatory compliance.

The CEO will shape strategy, oversee operations, and build strategic partnerships with regulators, customers and investors, ensuring sustainable growth and strong performance.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in the financial services sector (banking, insurance, asset management, or related activities) with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from a recognised university, or other relevant professional qualification(s).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and drive the organisation's vision and performance.
• Engage with regulators, shareholders, investors, customers and market participants to support growth.
• Oversee governance, risk management, capital adequacy, liquidity and compliance obligations.
• Build and maintain strategic alliances and key stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrate strong communication, negotiation and leadership to influence stakeholders.
• Represent the company in senior executive forums and drive financial and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & REQUIREMENTS

• Bring extensive experience in the relevant financial services activity, with a proven track record of success in senior management and leadership roles.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of the markets in which the licensee operates, including the products, services, and offerings required to compete effectively.
• Demonstrate a proven ability to lead an organisation or business unit with significant financial and operational responsibilities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, shareholders, investors, customers, and other relevant market participants.
• Influence and engage stakeholders effectively to support the organisation's strategic objectives through strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships with shareholders, regulators, customer groups, and key ecosystem players.
• Build and maintain strategic alliances, partnerships, and business relationships that support the organisation's growth and strategic objectives.
• Demonstrate a strong awareness of sound corporate governance and risk management practices, as well as regulatory and compliance obligations, particularly those relating to capital and liquidity and their impact on business strategy.
