Job summary

Propel Consult in Bahrain seeks an experienced Legal Counsel to draft, review, and negotiate financing and loan documentation, security arrangements, and related contracts under Bahrain law and CBB requirements. You will advise the CEO on regulatory risk and corporate governance and serve as the main liaison for CBB matters.

Qualifications

• LLB required; LLM is an advantage.
• Bahrain Bar admission is required.
• 6–8 years post-qualification experience in Bahrain banks/financiers.
• Strong knowledge of CBB Rulebook, AML/CFT, and consumer protection.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate financing and credit facility agreements, loan documentation, security/collateral arrangements, and customer contracts under CBB requirements.
• Advise CEO and senior management on legal risk, corporate governance, and regulatory matters.
• Act as primary point of contact for CBB-related matters and ensure ongoing compliance with licensing conditions.
• Manage relationships with the CBB, external counsel, and advisors.
• Take ownership of debt recovery, collections, and dispute resolution from initiation to enforcement.
• Oversee document execution formalities (signing authorities, powers of attorney, notarization/attestation, corporate approvals).
• Advise on general commercial law matters and ensure agreements are valid and enforceable under Bahrain law.
