Job summary

Union in Manama, Bahrain, is seeking an experienced Building Services Engineer to manage and coordinate MEP works for residential, commercial, villas, and high-rise projects. The role requires hands-on expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection, with strong knowledge of site execution, testing, commissioning, and handover.

The candidate should have 3–5+ years of relevant construction/MEP experience, read drawings, supervise site teams, and ensure QA/QC and HSE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• 3–5+ years of construction/MEP experience.
• Bahrain/GCC construction experience is highly preferred; Bahrain experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise building services and MEP works on construction sites.
• Oversee installation of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Review MEP drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Coordinate building services with civil, structural, architectural, and finishing works.
• Supervise subcontractors, technicians, and site teams.
• Conduct regular site inspections and ensure proper workmanship and installation quality.
• Identify and resolve technical issues, MEP clashes, and site coordination problems.
• Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, and equipment.
• Review material submittals, method statements, RFIs, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging, rectification, and final handover.
• Ensure works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and applicable Bahrain regulations.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and project management teams.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and provide updates to the Project Manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, MEP, Building Services Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of relevant construction/MEP experience.
• Strong building construction background is required.
• Experience with villa, residential, commercial, or high‑rise projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Good understanding of MEP installation, testing, commissioning, and handover.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP/shop drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience supervising subcontractors and site teams.
• Good knowledge of construction procedures, QA/QC, and HSE requirements.
• Bahrain/GCC construction experience is highly preferred; Bahrain experience is an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Navisworks, and MS Office is an advantage.
• Must be currently available in Bahrain.
• Immediate joiner preferred.

Preferred Candidate

• Candidates with strong hands‑on Bahrain construction experience, particularly those who have worked on high‑rise buildings, large villas, residential, or commercial projects, will be given priority.
