Job summary

KPMG Bahrain is seeking a Data Privacy & Protection Specialist to strengthen governance, ensure compliance with data protection laws, and advise on privacy strategies.

You will lead privacy initiatives, conduct DPIAs, audits, engage regulators, and build robust privacy frameworks while guiding senior stakeholders toward sustainable compliance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in IT audit, data compliance, cybersecurity or information security.
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and frameworks.
• Proven ability to work across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
• Excellent communication skills with senior stakeholders and regulators.

KPMG is seeking a Data Privacy & Protection Specialist to play a pivotal role in strengthening data governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.

Your Role

As a trusted advisor, you will:

• Lead data privacy compliance initiatives to meet evolving regulatory requirements
• Conduct privacy audits and assessments to identify gaps and enhance control environments
• Guide and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for high-risk processing activities
• Act as a key liaison with regulators and data protection authorities, managing communications and inquiries
• Build robust privacy frameworks, policies, and governance structures
• Provide insights on emerging risks, enabling proactive and sustainable compliance

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 6+ years of experience in IT audit, data compliance, cybersecurity, or information security
• Strong understanding of data privacy regulations and frameworks
• Proven ability to work across complex, multi-stakeholder environments
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and regulators

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, Data Science, Computer Science/Engineering, Cyber/Information Security, or equivalent

Certifications (one or more required)

• Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
• Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
