Job summary

KPMG Bahrain is seeking an Audit Assistant Manager to lead audit engagements independently under the guidance of the engagement manager and partner. You will plan and coordinate day-to-day activities, communicate with clients, and supervise junior staff.

The ideal candidate holds a graduate degree in accounting or related field and is fully qualified (CA/ACCA/ACA/CPA) with strong IFRS knowledge and experience in public auditing, preferably at a Big Four firm.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Fully qualified in a recognised international professional qualification such as CA ACCA ACA or CPA.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant auditing standards.

Responsibilities

• Work independently as the main person in charge of audit engagements under the direction of the engagement manager and partner.
• Plan and coordinate day-to-day engagement activities, understand the entity and its business, identify key risks, and manage deadlines.
• Communicate with clients to obtain information timely and follow up on outstanding matters.
• Supervise and review junior team members during fieldwork with clear instructions and feedback.
• Obtain and present audit evidence and address audit objectives.
• Document audit work in accordance with KPMG Methodology and regulatory requirements.
• Identify audit differences and control deficiencies and escalate appropriately.
• Apply IFRS and auditing standards to allocated work and conclusions.
• Comply with KPMG policies and independence requirements.
• Attend required audit and ethics training within deadlines.

Role

An Audit Assistant Manager at KPMG Bahrain is a qualified audit professional with at least one to two years of post-qualification experience. The Assistant Manager works independently as the main person in charge of audit engagements whether smaller or larger under the overall direction and review of the engagement manager and partner.

Primary Job Responsibilities Accountabilities

• Work independently as the main person in charge of audit engagements whether smaller or larger under the overall direction and review of the engagement manager and partner
• Plan and coordinate day-to-day engagement activities understand the entity and its business identify key risks manage deadlines and keep the engagement manager and partner informed of progress and significant matters
• Communicate directly and professionally with clients obtain required information on a timely basis follow up on outstanding matters and maintain effective working relationships
• Directly supervise coach and review the work of junior team members during fieldwork providing clear instructions and timely feedback
• Obtain and present sufficient and appropriate audit evidence address relevant audit objectives and demonstrate how the evidence supports the audit conclusions
• Document audit work clearly and completely in accordance with KPMG Audit Methodology applicable professional and regulatory requirements and relevant KPMG systems and tools
• Identify audit differences control deficiencies and other significant issues assess their implications and escalated them promptly as appropriate
• Apply knowledge of prevailing accounting and auditing standards including IFRS and relevant disclosure requirements to allocated work and engagement conclusions
• Comply at all times with KPMG policies professional ethics independence requirements confidentiality obligations and applicable quality and risk management procedures
• Attend and apply all required audit accounting ethics independence and technical training within the prescribed deadlines

The Individual

Minimum qualifications

• Graduate degree in Accounting or a related field
• Fully qualified in a recognised international professional qualification such as CA ACCA ACA or CPA
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and relevant auditing standards

Experience Expected

• At least one to two years of relevant post-qualification experience in public auditing and accounting preferably with a Big Four audit firm
• Demonstrated experience acting independently as the main person in charge of audit engagements and supervising junior team members
• Practical knowledge of KPMG Audit Methodology best-practice reporting IFRS and relevant professional and regulatory requirements
