Job summary

Pauwels Consulting is seeking a skilled data-architecture engineer to modernize legacy systems by migrating to an open environment, enabling analytics and AI initiatives. You will build REST APIs and components in PHP and JavaScript within an agile, DevOps framework.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define secure, interoperable architecture, contributing to backend and frontend work with 3+ years of experience. Brussels-based hybrid role, starting 01/11/2026 for about 2 months.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend and frontend development with PHP and JavaScript.
• 3+ years designing and implementing REST APIs and Web Services.
• 3+ years with SQL, NoSQL, and PostgreSQL databases.
• 3+ years with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and JWT-based tokens.
• 3+ years in Software Architecture applying design principles and patterns.
• 3+ years with Containerization and DevOps workflows, using GitLab.
• 3+ years implementing Security By Design and app security protocols.
• You are native in French or Dutch with passive knowledge of the other and have active knowledge of English.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical analysis and design for data exchange services and REST APIs to ensure system integration.
• Develop robust application components using PHP and JavaScript to support architectural evolution.
• Modernize strategic solutions by integrating new functionalities related to AI and data analysis.
• Collaborate with development teams to define technical architecture and ensure secure, interoperable outcomes.
• Participate in the full development lifecycle within a DevOps and Agile environment.
