UFX Studios in Brussels, Belgium seeks a VFX Compositor to assemble, integrate, and finalize visual effects shots for films and series. You will work with rendered CG elements, live-action plates, FX passes, and matte paintings to deliver seamless and visually polished shots.

With 3–6 years of experience and strong Nuke skills, you will collaborate with CG, FX, and lighting teams, manage AOVs, and deliver high-quality work under production deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Nuke for advanced compositing, keying, roto/paint, integration and AOV management.
• Good understanding of CG pipelines including lighting, rendering passes, and FX workflows.

UFX Studios is looking for a VFX Compositor to work on exciting upcoming projects!

As a VFX Compositor, you will be responsible for assembling, integrating, and finalizing visual effects shots for films and series. You will work with rendered CG elements, live-action plates, FX passes, and matte paintings to deliver seamless and visually polished shots. You will collaborate closely with CG, FX, and lighting teams to ensure consistency, realism, and artistic quality across all assigned shots

Key Missions

• Integrate CG elements, FX simulations, live-action plates, and matte paintings to create cohesive and visually convincing final shots.
• Perform color matching, keying, tracking, roto/paint, clean-up, and AOV integration to achieve seamless compositing.
• Create the shots or assets assigned to you with strong attention to detail, ensuring that your work, submissions, and updates are accurately tracked and documented in ShotGrid and any other relevant production tools.
• Develop creative visual solutions for effects while ensuring consistency with the film's established visual style. Identify and resolve technical or artistic compositing issues and develop efficient workflows for complex shots.
• Demonstrate rigour when submitting shots or elements for review and approval, and respond effectively to feedback from Leads and Supervisors.
• Consistently deliver shots of an excellent standard, both creatively and technically, while respecting deadlines and production priorities. Have a strong command of both 2D and 3D environments.
• Where additional support or expertise is required, communicate this clearly to your Lead.
• Collaborate with members of other departments to understand their constraints and help them understand yours.
• Communicate clearly with colleagues and structure your work using detailed notes, making it easier to reproduce, adapt, or implement changes quickly and efficiently.
• Share relevant information with your team and document the context and reasoning behind your submissions in ShotGrid.
• Follow the priorities established by your Lead and/or the Production team.
• Demonstrate a strong team spirit, which is essential for this role.
• Show curiosity and incorporate the artificial intelligence tools made available to you into your workflow where appropriate.

Profile

• 3 - 6 years of experience as a Compositor in a VFX, animation, or post-production studio.
• Strong proficiency in Nuke (advanced compositing, keying, roto/paint, integration, AOV management).
• Good understanding of CG pipelines, including lighting, rendering passes (AOVs), and FX workflows is a plus.
• Good skills in color grading, photographic principles, and visual continuity.
• Ability to analyze and solve technical or artistic issues efficiently.
• Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate with CG/FX teams, and capacity to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
