Responsibilities include collaborating with designers and developers, ensuring content accessibility, and translating Dutch UX copy into high-quality French. The role follows a hybrid model with on-site and remote work.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional experience as a UX Copywriter or similar role.
• Excellent French writing with a strong portfolio in copywriting.
• Proven experience collaborating with design teams and following a structured design process.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum is a plus.

Looking for a freelance (UX) Copywriter (FR+ENG & NL) for a project at one of our clients!

Location: Brussels Area, hybrid working (50% on-site, 50% homeworking)

Start date: September 2026

Employment Rate: full-time 100%

Languages: Fluent French (C2), and full professional Dutch and English (B2-C1)

Introduction

We are looking for (UX) Copywriter to help create clear, intuitive and user-centred digital experiences. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping the words users encounter throughout digital products and journeys, from buttons and titles to instructions, error messages and complete user flows.

You will work closely with UX/UI designers, product specialists, developers and fellow UX Writers to ensure that content is seamlessly integrated into the design and supports both user needs and product objectives.

Responsibilities

(UX) Writing & Content Creation

• Write and edit user interface content throughout the different stages of the product development lifecycle.
• Create concise and intuitive microcopy, including labels, buttons, titles, instructions, error messages and other interface content.
• Develop copy that guides users clearly through digital interactions and customer journeys.
• Ensure that all content is consistent, accessible and inclusive.
• Translate and adapt Dutch (UX) copy into natural, high-quality French.

Collaboration & Product Development

• Work closely with designers, product experts and developers to integrate copy into digital products and user flows.
• Contribute to the ideation, refinement and delivery phases of product development.
• Understand complete customer journeys and collaborate with experts from different disciplines to create coherent experiences.
• Adapt UX copy based on insights from user testing and stakeholder feedback.

UX Copy Standards & Content Management

• Collaborate with other UX Writers to develop and maintain UX copy guidelines and standards.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organisation's approach to UX writing.
• Maintain and update the relevant content database with approved UX copy.
• Share expertise and support fellow UX Writers in developing effective content solutions.

Experience

• 2-5 years of professional experience as a UX Copywriter, Copywriter or a comparable role
• Excellent French writing skills with a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant copywriting work
• Proven experience working with design teams and within a structured design process
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum ways of working is an advantage
• Experience in a financial environment is a plus

Technical & Professional Skills

• Understanding of UX Writing principles and techniques is a plus
• Ability to adapt copy to different digital interfaces, products and user journeys.
• Ability to understand and contribute to complex end-to-end customer journeys.
• Strong understanding of how content and design work together to support usability.
• Ability to develop different copy options when needed to support stakeholder discussions and decision-making.
• Collaborative and able to work effectively with a wide range of specialists.
• Confident in presenting, explaining and defending (UX) copy decisions.
• Supportive team player with the ability to demonstrate leadership when needed.
• Independent, precise and highly attentive to detail.
