skeyes is seeking a UTM Expert to explore implications of integrating UTM into the ATM concept and align operational, technical, and safety requirements. The role involves coordinating with technical and operational experts, proposing adjustments to procedures, and participating in international meetings to stay ahead of developments in UTM and drone management.

Qualifications

• Strong interest and knowledge in aviation, especially UTM and drones.
• Insight into ATM and aviation legislation and regulatory context.
• Analytical thinking with ability to devise creative solutions.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with project management methods preferred.
• Excellent English; good command of French or Dutch.

What does a skeyes UTM Expert do?

• looking for possible implications and feasibility in the operational, technical and safety fields;
• taking into account the needs and risks relating to the use of airspace.

Identifying and analysing challenges involved in integrating UTM into the ATM concept.

• looking for possible implications and feasibility in the operational, technical and safety fields;
• taking into account the needs and risks relating to the use of airspace.

Proposing adjustments in working methods and operational procedures to integrate UTM into the ATM concept and identifying the impact.

• ensuring the (often limited) adjustments to be made to the way of working, the route structure and the coordination (including the coordination with other centres);
• contributing to working methods and operational procedures that guarantee safety and performance in the framework of day-to-day operations and provision of services under the LoA;
• providing assistance with technical and operational developments in order to guarantee an optimal and efficient UTM service.

As an OPS project partner, coordinating the development and implementation of necessary technical and operational changes related to UTM working methods and procedures with technical and operational experts.

Gathering, filtering, interpreting and communicating proper ideas to team members.

Participating in internal and external working groups as well as international meetings, so that skeyes remains informed and can adapt to current developments/trends and decisions made mainly in the field of UTM topics.

• gathering information on developments and new regulations relating to Air/ Unmanned Traffic Management;
• defining the parties who must be informed at skeyes about developments and decisions that have been discussed in working groups and meetings;
• communicating changes, in consultation with UTM management, to all relevant people within skeyes, in order to set up an internal forum with sufficient knowledge to help shape the vision, to 'weigh in' and ensure that it musters the required buy-in;
• ensuring that the necessary procedures are adapted and then followed by the stakeholders, so that skeyes is in compliance with the changes discussed.

Candidate profile

• You have a very strong affinity with aviation in general.
• You have a genuine interest in UTM and drones.
• You have insight in ATM and aviation legislation.
• You have an analytical mind and you can devise creative solutions.
• You are able to work effectively in a team environment.
• You should preferably be familiar with Project Management methods.
• You speak excellent English and have a good command of French or Dutch.
