Smappee, a leader in energy management and EV charging solutions, seeks a hands-on Technical Service Engineer to support its Dutch EV charging initiatives. You will serve as the technical reference for installers, service partners, and strategic customers, ensuring reliable commissioning and operation of our DC and AC charging systems.

Fluent Dutch and solid English, 3+ years in EV charging or electrical infrastructure, and willingness to travel within the Netherlands are required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years hands-on experience with DC and AC charging infrastructure.
• Strong background in electrical engineering, EV charging, energy systems, industrial automation, or power electronics.
• Experience with commissioning, field service, or technical operations in EV charging or energy infrastructure.
• Able to troubleshoot hardware and software issues independently.
• Knowledge of Dutch installation standards and regulations (NEN1010) is a strong plus.
• Clear communication with installers, technical partners and enterprise customers; structured and autonomous work style.
• Fluent in Dutch with working knowledge of English.
• Willing to travel regularly within the Netherlands.

• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical interventions for complex charging installations.
• Diagnose and resolve issues related to charging hardware, connectivity, backend communication, and energy systems.
• Coordinate technical escalations with HQ Engineering and Product teams.
• Support installers and service partners during complex technical cases and interventions.
• Drive root-cause analysis and contribute to improvements in service quality and operational processes.
• Support warranty handling, spare parts coordination, technical training, and knowledge sharing.
• Deliver technical training to partners and installers.

Position

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Technical Service Engineer to support the growth of Smappee’s EV charging business in the Netherlands, with a strong focus on DC fast charging infrastructure. In this role, you act as the technical reference point for installers, service partners, and strategic customers, ensuring reliable commissioning, troubleshooting, and operational excellence of our charging solutions.

Requirements

• You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with DC and AC charging infrastructure.
• You have a strong technical background in electrical engineering, EV charging, energy systems, industrial automation, or power electronics.
• You have experience with commissioning, field service, or technical operations within EV charging or energy infrastructure.
• You are comfortable troubleshooting both hardware and software related issues independently.
• Knowledge of Dutch installation standards and regulations, including NEN1010, is a strong plus.
• You are capable to communicate clearly with installers, technical partners, and enterprise customers and work in a structured and autonomous way.
• You are fluent in Dutch with a solid working knowledge of English.
• You are willing to travel regulary within the Netherlands.
