VITO is seeking a hands-on Technical Lead to design and build scalable Earth Observation platforms that handle massive satellite data. You will lead architectural decisions, guide teams, and help evolve our stack, including openEO, Terrascope and Copernicus Data Space Ecosystem, toward AI-ready and sovereign deployment models.

You will collaborate with software engineers, EO experts and project managers in an agile environment, contributing to technical roadmaps and stakeholder discussions while

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering background with leadership experience.
• Experience as technical lead or software architect in cloud-native/data-intensive apps.
• Proficiency in Python/Scala and guiding stack choices.

Responsabilités

• Shape architecture of Earth Observation platforms for large-scale data access and services.
• Lead technical work from proposals to execution in innovation projects.
• Advance GeoAI capabilities like embeddings and semantic search.
• Evolve openEO, Terrascope and Copernicus DS Ecosystem toward AI-ready architectures.
• Collaborate with engineers, EO experts and project managers to bring ideas to production.
