VITO, a Flemish independent research organization, seeks an Earth Observation Platform Innovation Team Manager to define and drive the Geo-AI innovation roadmap, aligning team activities with platform engineering, services, and VITO's objectives. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of developers and researchers, fostering collaboration and professional growth across the department.

You will steer governance participation, bidding for European and national funding, stay at the cutting edge of

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in a relevant scientific field with proven project management and research leadership.
• Ability to lead and motivate a multidisciplinary team of researchers and developers.
• Significant experience with Earth Observation services such as Copernicus.

Responsabilités

• Define and drive the technical innovation roadmap for Geo-AI capabilities.
• Manage a team of developers and researchers, ensuring development of their skills.
• Represent the team in governance, funding consortia and external partnerships.
• Lead proposal writing for European and national funding opportunities.
• Stay current with EO platform tech and translate it into team priorities.
• Extend Geo-AI capabilities into security/defense contexts and address data security.
