VITO invites a hands-on Technical Lead to shape Earth Observation platforms within our Environmental Intelligence unit. You’ll drive software architecture for large-scale data access, processing and AI-enabled geospatial services on top of openEO, Terrascope and related ecosystems.

You will guide colleagues, make architectural choices, and translate ambitious ideas into reliable platform components that scale across institutions such as ESA and the European Commission.

• Strong software engineering background with focus on architecture.

Responsabilités

• Shape the architecture of Earth Observation platforms for large‑scale data access and services.
• Explore and integrate GeoAI capabilities like embeddings and semantic search.
• Evolve services towards AI‑ready, federated and sovereign deployment models.
• Collaborate with engineers, EO experts and product managers to bring ideas to production.
• Support engineering quality through testing, CI, documentation and observability.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and proposals.
