Riverman Nautical seeks an experienced Technical Fleet Director to lead the technical management of our growing European river fleet. This is a senior, hands-on position for someone with substantial marine engineering experience who can own fleet technical performance.

The role is remote, with preference given to candidates based in Germany or the Benelux region, and regular travel across the European river network will be required to supervise maintenance, budgets and compliance.

Qualifications

• Senior, hands-on role requiring substantial marine engineering experience.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and make independent decisions.
• Fluent English; German and/or Dutch is an advantage.

Riverman Nautical is looking for an experienced Technical Fleet Director to take a leading role in the technical management of our growing European river fleet.

This is a senior, hands-on position for someone with substantial marine engineering experience who is capable of taking ownership of fleet technical performance.

The position is remote, with preference given to candidates based in Germany or the Benelux region.

Key responsibilities:

• Technical oversight of the managed fleet
• Planned maintenance, Dry-dockings, refits and technical projects
• Technical budgets and cost control
• Class, Flag and statutory compliance
• Shipyard, contractor and supplier management
• Supporting Captains and Chief Engineers with operational issues

Candidate profile:

• Chief Engineer, Technical Superintendent, Fleet Manager or similar background
• Strong practical and commercial understanding of vessel operations
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and make independent decisions
• Fluent English; German and/or Dutch is an advantage
• Based in Germany/Benelux preferred
• Regular travel throughout the European river network required
