EDR Antwerp Shipyard is seeking a proactive procurement professional to manage the full purchasing cycle for vessel repairs in our Antwerp shipyard. You will source parts, negotiate best prices, and may resale products directly to customers while coordinating with other services to deliver projects on time.

You should be comfortable in Dutch and English, have a tech affinity, and enjoy a dynamic environment with occasional weekend work when deadlines require it.

Qualifications

• Strong affinity with technology from experience or relevant study.
• Experience with installations is a plus.
• Negotiation skills are essential.
• Fluency in Dutch and English.

Responsabilités

• Procure parts used for repairing vessels based on fixed processes and supplier search.
• Sometimes resale of products directly to customers.
• Call suppliers in Dutch and English to secure best price and terms.
• Negotiate to obtain best price and conditions.
• Collaborate with other services to bring projects to a successful conclusion.
• Ensure availability of products to meet ship deadlines.

EDR Antwerp Shipyard is the largest shipyard in Belgium, specialised in ship maintenance and repairs, hull treatment and marine construction. Challenging activities require skilful and motivated team members. Over 150 vessels annually are repaired and maintained at our shipyard in Antwerp, and projects are performed on board vessels across the world.

YOUR ROLE

Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for the entire procurement process. A very dynamic job with a lot of variety!

What does your day look like?

• You buy parts that are used for repairing the vessels; You do this on the basis of fixed purchasing processes, but you also search for the right products through other channels
• Selling is also part of it; Sometimes the products are resold directly to the customer
• You call suppliers, both in Dutch and in English
• You negotiate to obtain the best price and the best conditions
• You will work closely with other services within EDR to bring all projects to a successful conclusion

Of course, you do all this taking into account the planning and delivery times. The ships must always be finished by a certain deadline. So it's your job to make sure the products are available on time.

YOUR PROFILE

• You have a strong affinity with technology, either from experience or from a relevant study
• Are you someone who has done installations yourself? That's definitely a big plus!
• Negotiating does not scare you
• You have a very good knowledge of Dutch and English
• You are comfortable working from the office five days a week, from 8 a.m. to 16:30 p.m. (no teleworking)
• You are flexible when certain deadlines need to be met (e.g. in terms of working hours & occasional weekend work)
• It goes without saying that you are a team player and you have the necessary commercial flair
• You can work smoothly and accurately with Office 365
• Experience in the maritime world is a plus
