USG Professionals Belgium is seeking an experienced Application Platform Manager / Technical Service Owner to take end-to-end ownership of business-critical R&D applications and platforms. You’ll manage the complete service lifecycle—from infrastructure and application operations to roadmap, budgets, suppliers, upgrades and projects.

This role blends technical leadership with product ownership and project delivery, offering exposure to cloud, on-premise infrastructure and supplier governance

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of experience in application/platform or technical service management.
• Strong Windows & Linux infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience with deployment, maintenance, upgrades and migrations.
• Experience with cloud and container platforms, preferably AWS.
• PTC experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with license management (FlexLM / LMtools).
• Understanding Disaster Recovery and infrastructure architecture.
• Experience supporting engineering/R&D applications.

The Challenge

Are you a Technical Application/Service Lead who enjoys being the person who connects technology, business, infrastructure and suppliers?

We are looking for an experienced Application Platform Manager / Technical Service Owner to take end-to-end ownership of business-critical R&D applications and platforms.

You’ll be responsible for the complete service lifecycle — from infrastructure and application operations to roadmap, budgets, suppliers, upgrades, projects and continuous improvement.

This is a highly versatile role where technical expertise meets product and project management.

Your Responsibilities

Application & Infrastructure Management

• Own the lifecycle of critical R&D applications and platforms.
• Work hands-on with Windows & Linux server environments for application deployment and maintenance.
• Design and plan infrastructure for customized applications.
• Manage license servers and tools such as FlexLM / LMtools, including troubleshooting and renewals.
• Administer and manage ALM platforms, ideally including PTC products.
• Lead application upgrades, migrations and Disaster Recovery activities.
• Support R&D engineers with customized applications and resolve BAU issues.
• Work with containerization platforms such as AWS ECS or equivalent technologies.
• Apply a strong understanding of full-stack infrastructure technologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout design and project delivery.
• Be flexible to support occasional off-hours upgrades or migrations when required.

Product & Project Management

• Define and communicate the product vision, strategy and roadmap in line with business objectives.
• Translate business and customer needs into requirements and user stories using JIRA.
• Own and prioritize the product backlog, maximizing business and customer value.
• Coordinate engineering, business and other cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Follow established PMO processes and monitor project progress.
• Analyse service/product performance and drive continuous improvement after launch.
• Engage with Product Owners and stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure successful adoption.

Financial & Supplier Management

• Manage CAPEX and OPEX budgets related to your services.
• Participate in PO activities and supplier management.
• Forecast financial impact and identify opportunities for long-term cost optimisation.
• Coordinate suppliers and manage relationships around licensing, renewals and service delivery.
• Act as the single accountable owner for both the technical platform and the value it delivers to the business.

What You Bring

Technical

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in application/platform or technical service management.
• Strong Windows & Linux infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience with application deployment, maintenance, upgrades and migrations.
• Experience with cloud and container platforms, preferably AWS.
• Knowledge of ALM platforms; PTC experience is a strong plus.
• Experience with license management, ideally FlexLM / LMtools.
• Understanding of Disaster Recovery and infrastructure architecture.
• Experience supporting engineering/R&D applications.

Business & Management

• Strong product ownership and project management capabilities.
• Experience defining roadmaps, managing requirements and prioritizing backlogs.
• Experience with JIRA and Agile ways of working.
• Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills.
• Experience managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
