Matexi, a Belgian real estate developer, seeks a Junior Tax Specialist to join its Tax & Legal team in Belgium. You will deepen tax knowledge within an experienced group and support the legal team when needed.

In this role you monitor tax developments, assist with tax compliance and documentation, and contribute to tax structuring of real estate projects. You will work closely with colleagues across Finance, HR and Business Development.

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Law, Business Administration, Applied Economics or a similar field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
• Interest in tax and real estate matters.

Aufgaben

• Monitor tax developments, new legislation and relevant case law, assess their impact and identify opportunities and risks at group and project level.
• Develop and maintain tax procedures, templates and work instructions, and assist with tax inspections and information requests from tax authorities.
• Support timely and accurate tax compliance, including corporate income tax returns, and help prepare transfer pricing documentation.
• Contribute to internal tax reviews and audits, and support Finance, Accounting, HR and Business Development with tax questions.
• Collaborate with Tax & Legal colleagues on tax and legal structuring of real estate projects.
• Build expertise in corporate income tax, VAT, real estate taxation and international taxation, while supporting legal files when needed.

Our client, Matexi, is a Belgian real estate developer with roots dating back to 1945 and a focus on creating sustainable, high-quality neighborhoods. Active in Belgium, Luxembourg and Poland, the company combines residential development with the transformation of existing urban sites into vibrant places to live. Matexi is now looking for a Junior Tax Specialist to strengthen its Tax & Legal team in Belgium.

You will have the opportunity to deepen and further develop your tax knowledge within an experienced team of specialists. Together, you will work on a wide range of tax matters in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. When needed, you will also support the Legal team and follow up on legal files.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

To succeed in this role, we believe you will have:

• You hold a Master’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Applied Economics or a similar field.
• You have three to five years of relevant experience.
• You have a strong affinity with and expertise in tax, an interest in real estate matters, and ideally knowledge of real estate taxation.
• Fluent in Dutch, French and English.
• You take ownership, act proactively, anticipate issues and think along with the business.
• You bring enthusiasm, energy, healthy assertiveness and strong communication skills to your collaboration with colleagues.

Location

The role is based at Matexi’s offices in Belgium, with travel to the main office in Waregem up to two days/ week.
