The role requires DoD certifications, 7+ years of satellite experience, and ability to travel up to 25%. You will work with IP routing, QoS, VoIP, and RF subsystems, ensuring secure, low-latency communications for mission-critical operations.

Qualifications

  • Active US government secret clearance required (Interim acceptable).
  • US citizenship required due to contract requirements.
  • DCWF DoD 8140 441- Network Operations Specialist aligned certs or training.
  • Certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCNA or DoD 8140-approved equivalents.

Responsabilités

  • Operate tactical SATCOM systems per training and certification.
  • Apply network theory and protocols in daily operations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot DMVPN architectures.
  • Implement routing protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, RIP.
  • Apply VLANs, VTP, Port Security, STP practices.
  • Use Cisco encryption within DMVPN for secure comms.

Job Overview

Job Title: Tactical SATCOM O&M Support

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Job Responsibilities

The Tactical SATCOM O&M Support position will support the day-to-day end users of tactical satellite systems to include but not limited to Secure Internet Protocol Router (SIPR)/Non-Secure Internet Protocol Router (NIPR) Access Point (SNAP), Support Wide Area Network (SWAN), Inflatable SATCOM Antenna (ISA), and Wireless Point to Point Links (WPPL).

  • Operate tactical SATCOM systems based on formal training and certification.
  • Apply in-depth knowledge of network protocols and foundational network theory in daily operations.
  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Network (DMVPN) architectures.
  • Implement and support routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, and RIP.
  • Apply switching fundamentals such as VLANs, VLAN Trunk Protocol (VTP), Port Security, and Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).
  • Utilize Cisco encryption technologies within DMVPN environments to ensure secure communications.
  • Understand and apply TCP acceleration techniques to optimize performance over satellite links.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance (Interim Secret Clearance is acceptable).
  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.
  • Candidates must meet applicable DCWF DoD 8140 requirements for the assigned work role (441- Network Operations Specialist, Basic) through approved certifications, or education, or military training, or a combination thereof.
  • Qualifying 8140 certifications may include CND, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or other DoD 8140-approved higher-level certifications aligned to the assigned work role.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience working with satellite terminal systems is required.
  • Must have at least two (2) years of experience in a tactical environment operating and maintaining key satellite components, including antenna controllers, Solid State Power Amplifiers (SSPAs), Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Low Noise Blocks (LNBs), up/down converters, and various cabling types such as fiber optic, coaxial, and Ethernet. Proficiency with FDMA and TDMA satellite modems is essential.
  • Demonstrated expertise in both commercial and military satellite acquisition procedures. Strong background in IP routing and switching, VoIP, Quality of Service (QoS), T1/E1 voice and data systems, and Foreign Exchange Server (FXS) configurations. Experience with MRT systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with Satellite Line of Sight (LOS) and Near Line of Sight (NLOS) communication methods.
  • Required Certifications : Network+ and Security+.
  • Able to travel to support mission up to 25%.
Education
  • Associates degree preferred, OR eleven (11) total years of recent specialized experience.
