Job summary

Médiane Benelux seeks an experienced Sub-System Manager to lead and coordinate cross-functional activities for a major international railway project. You will manage the sub-system delivery, align with customer expectations and QCDP commitments, and operate in a matrix environment with engineering, industrialization, sourcing, and integration teams.

Based in Belgium, you will report to the Traction Bids & Projects Director, coordinate a local project team of six, and interact with the final

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering is mandatory.
• PMP/Prince 2 certification is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage sub-system stakeholders and activities end-to-end: from requirement capture to project close-out.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, sourcing, RAMS, industrialization, and supply chain teams.
• Coordinate with other sub-systems and project-level functions.
• Deliver the sub-system scope according to contractual commitments and project targets.
• Lead arbitration between conflicting needs (engineering, Make or Buy decisions, costs, planning, interfaces, etc.).
• Manage risks, opportunities, changes, and rebaselining for the sub-system.
• Ensure transparency and accuracy in KPI tracking and reporting.
• Represent the sub-system in reviews, gate meetings, and towards the client if requested.
• Apply project strategies and ensure full compliance with internal processes, ethics, EHS, and quality standards.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sub-System Manager to lead and coordinate cross-functional activities for a major international railway project.

You will be responsible for the management and successful delivery of a project sub-system, ensuring full alignment with customer expectations and QCDP (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Performance) commitments.

You will work in a matrix environment, with strong interactions between engineering, industrialization, sourcing, and integration teams, and occasionally directly with the final client.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage sub-system stakeholders and activities end-to-end: from requirement capture to project close-out.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration across engineering, sourcing, RAMS, industrialization, and supply chain teams.
• Coordinate with other sub-systems and project-level functions.

Education

Profile / Requirements :

• Master's degree in Engineering (mandatory)
• PMP/Prince 2 certification is a strong plus.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing complex product development projects.
• Experience in an industrial and technological environment, in an international and matrix organization.
• Proven success managing cross-functional and multi-site teams across different métiers (Engineering, Sourcing, Supply Chain, etc.).
• Project scope managed: from €100K to €100 million.

• Limited travel is expected on the project.
