MOSA BALLET SCHOOL in Liège, Belgium, is seeking an education professional to supervise and support students during nights and weekends, ensuring safety and a calm living environment, while promoting autonomy. Under the Head of Student Supervisors, you will mediate and coordinate with dance teachers to maintain a respectful community.

You will be appointed as a referent for a group of students, liaising with the Athénée Charles Rogier and the dance staff.

Qualifications

• Must have availability for night, weekend and holiday work.
• Educator A2 diploma is required.
• 3+ years of experience as educator or youth worker.
• Strong mediation, observation and listening skills.
• Fluent in English and French.
• Proficient with MS Office.

The Function

As an education professional, prevention and mediation, you will listen to each pupil to help them grow, to enable them to gradually take ownership of school life, to find their place and to develop the necessary social and academic learning on the road to autonomy and responsibility.

The role involves regular evening and overnight duties, with a required overnight presence on site as part of the position, as well as two weekends per month.

Under the supervision of the Head of Student Supervisors, your main tasks are as follows:

• Supervising and supporting students and young dancers during nights and weekends, ensuring their physical and emotional safety and well-being and maintaining a calm, respectful and supportive living environment.
• Ensuring that the rules and framework of school life are respected, while encouraging students’ autonomy, responsibility and ability to live together, including through mediation and conflict management when needed.
• In rotation with colleagues, ensuring a presence during nights and weekends and supporting the daily rhythm of students through key moments such as waking up, meals, study periods, activities, quiet time and bedtime, as well as carrying out night surveillance rounds.
• Contributing to the overall organization and quality of the students’ living environment, including ensuring that rooms and shared spaces are orderly, hygienic and ready to welcome students, while encouraging students to take responsibility for their environment.
• Managing emergency situations, particularly those relating to health and safety, in accordance with established procedures and protocols, including accompanying students to hospital when necessary.
• Monitoring and reporting any health issues, incidents, damage, technical problems or identified risks, and informing the relevant teams, emergency services or management as appropriate.
• Acting as a point of reference for a group of students, contributing to their day-to-day follow-up, support and evaluation, and participating where appropriate in educational, social or pedagogical activities.

In addition to your general responsibilities towards all students, you will be appointed as a referent for a group of students. You will be the privileged contact and will act as an interface and mediator for the young person and his/her family with the Athénée Charles Rogier and the dance teachers.

You will participate in the social programme Quand On Danse on an ad hoc basis.

Must Have

• Availability for night, weekend and holiday work.
• Educator A2 diploma.
• Experience as an educator or youth worker for more than 3 years.
• Positive approach to situations and mediation.
• Sense of caring, collaboration and initiative.
• Good observation and listening skills.
• Strong personal, affective and emotional balance.
• Knowledge of the Office Suite: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in English and French.

Nice to Have

• First aid certificate.
• Other language skills.
• Experience in the world of teaching and boarding school.
