Job summary

Imec, a world-leading research center in nanotechnology, invites applications for a Project Manager – Collaborative R&D in Photonics, Superconducting & RF Technologies. You will lead strategic European and national collaborative projects, align partners, and drive portfolios across photonics, superconducting and RF domains.

You will shape proposals and manage complex programs with strong cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in photonics, electrical engineering, physics, microelectronics, quantum technologies or related field.
• Strong technical background in optical interconnects, photonics, RF, superconducting technologies, quantum hardware or related semiconductor technologies.
• Proven experience managing complex, multi-partner R&D projects.
• Experience with European or national funding programs (Horizon Europe, Chips JU, SNS JU, Digital Europe).
• Excellent communication, stakeholder-management and negotiation skills.
• Strong team player with ability to build trust across organizations.
• Fluent in English and willing to travel regularly across Europe.

Responsibilities

• Lead and represent our sector in strategic European and nationally funded collaborative R&D projects.
• Drive project execution in scope, schedule, budget, quality and reporting.
• Proactively manage risks, dependencies, resources and stakeholders across the project landscape.
• Ensure technical contributions are delivered and translated into visible impact for the consortium and its stakeholders.
• Coordinate international consortia and establish governance, decision-making and reporting structures.
• Define and manage the collaborative R&D roadmap across photonics, superconducting and RF domains.
• Build and maintain relationships with industrial, academic and research partners across Europe.
• Monitor European technology, funding and policy developments relevant to photonics, RF and superconducting devices.
