Job summary

Elia Group is seeking an Energy Scenario Expert to strengthen its SMA department. You will develop forward-looking energy scenarios for Belgium and Europe, basing assumptions on market trends, public policies and energy system changes.

You will defend these assumptions with a wide range of stakeholders and contribute to strategic studies and long-term outlook projects. You will collaborate with public authorities, DSOs, market participants and ENTSO‑E, translating complex data into usable inputs

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in energy scenario development, economic and/or market analysis, or energy system modelling.
• Master's degree in Economics, Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics or Data Analytics.
• Fluency in English and either French or Dutch, with professional working proficiency in the other language.
• Autonomy, collaboration, and ownership of tools or projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop short- and long-term energy scenarios for Belgium and regional markets.
• Maintain scenarios covering demand, generation, flexibility, storage, and cross-border exchanges.
• Communicate and defend scenarios to stakeholders in a structured, persuasive manner.
• Analyze trends in technology, economics, regulation, and society that influence the energy system.
• Represent Elia at industry events and engage with market stakeholders to strengthen expertise.
• Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to challenge and refine assumptions.
