Job summary

KEYES is seeking a Backup & Storage Engineer to maintain and evolve our data protection portfolio. You will work on on-premise and cloud-enabled backup solutions, collaborate with the operations team on procedures, migrations, and architecture design.

You will participate in presales, assess customer needs, and propose technical solutions while engaging with stakeholders and partners to meet business goals. A strong cloud-agnostic mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• Master degree in computer science or relevant field.
• 5+ years of experience in a similar function.
• Experience with and strong understanding of Data protection tools (Dell PPDM, NetBackup, Veeam, IBM Spectrum Protect) and their Cloud possibilities.
• ITIL knowledge and use.
• Knowledge of programming languages like Java, PHP, Python, PowerShell, use of REST API.
• Knowledge of most operating systems (Windows, Linux, AIX).
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure (network/storage/virtualization/containerization/security).
• Container technologies: Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift.

• Be responsible for operating procedures, data migration, and development operations (on-prem/off-prem).
• Contribute to the design and evolution of backup architecture with the operational team.
• Participate in presales activities to answer RFPs and present KEYES Data Protection services.
• Analyze customer needs and advise on technical solutions.
• Provide cloud-provider-agnostic solutions to meet customer needs.
• Identify and communicate with stakeholders and partners.

THE BACKGROUND

We use our onprem infrastructure and onprem/offprem cloud services, using enterprise grade hardware and software, providing a wide variety of solutions, from replicated backups across our datacenters to crypto analysis of backups using IA. We manage on demand and scheduled DR exercises (on site and/or as a customer level).

YOUR MISSION

• Maintain/upgrade/manage our Data Protection portfolio through an innovative approach and a vision focused on market demands
• Be responsible for operating procedures, data migration, and development operations (on-prem/off-prem)
• Possibility to contribute to the design and evolution of backup architecture in close collaboration with the operational team responsible for backup, recovery, and data lifecycle management processes.
• Take part in presales activities to answer requests for proposals, present, and defend KEYES’ Data Protection services portfolio to customers
• Analyze the needs of customers and prospects, assess the feasibility of their projects, and advise on possible technical solutions
• Provide solutions that are cloud-provider agnostic to meet customers’ needs and preferences
• Identify and communicate with major stakeholders and other third parties and partners

Job Requirements

YOUR PROFILE

Technical Skills

• Master degree in computer science or relevant field
• 5+ years of experience in a similar function
• Experience with and strong understanding of Dataprotection Tools (DELL PPDM, netbackup, Veeam, IBM Spectrum Protect...) and their Cloud possibilities
• ITIL knowledge and use
• Knowledge of programming languages like Java, PHP, Python, PowerShell, use of RESTapi
• Knowledge of Most Operating systems, Windows, Linux (all brands), AIX…
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure (network/storage/virtualization/containerization/security/HA-PowerHA/Clusters/DBs)
• Understand the technical aspects/restriction/security/challenges of running in a mutualized infrastructure
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/Red Hat OpenShift) is a plus
