Job summary

ACENSI Belgium seeks a Storage/Backup Engineer to define and guard end-to-end architecture for on-premise compute and storage platforms supporting banking workloads. You will ensure architectures are buildable, operable, and compliant across datacenters and programs.

You will guide design reviews, lead resilience and security considerations, and mentor engineers while collaborating with Risk, Security, and Product teams to maintain architectural integrity.

Responsibilities

• Own the system architecture for IaaS compute and storage platforms (e.g. virtualization, cluster design, SAN/NAS, DRP constructs).
• Define and maintain as is and to be architectures with guardrails and standards.
• Create and evolve the architectural runway enabling platform capabilities.
• Guide solutions proposed by teams, vendors, and integrators across datacenters.
• Lead decisions on availability, resilience, performance, and security, balancing cost and risk.
• Act as architectural counterpart in major initiatives (NewDC, DRP redesign, storage evolution).
• Document decisions and rationale; participate in architecture boards and governance forums.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Risk and Security to ensure operability and auditability.
• Mentor engineers by explaining architectural intent and promoting systems thinking across teams.
