Deel is seeking a passionate Staff Product Designer to shape the future of our products. You will lead design initiatives across vertical and horizontal projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive experiences and design excellence.

You will mentor other designers, drive the Deel UI/Design System, and prototype at speed, balancing user needs with business goals in a rapidly evolving fintech environment.

About The Role

We are seeking a passionate and highly experienced Staff Product Designer to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of our products, driving design excellence, and delivering delightful customer experiences. You will lead design initiatives across vertical and horizontal projects, collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure a cohesive and impactful user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Design Initiatives: Define and deliver product design across multiple initiatives, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals. Lead the development of end-to-end features and services that resonate with our users.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross‑functional teams including product, engineering, and business partners, to build coherent, high-quality experiences that are both functional and delightful.
• Advocate for Design Systems: Champion the Deel UI/Design System strategy, driving adoption through an iterative approach that balances consistency with innovation.
• Design and Prototype at Speed: Rapidly design, prototype, and test new features based on a deep understanding of business, customers and technology, to deliver thoughtful solutions even in the face of ambiguity.
• Mentor and Guide: Provide mentorship to Product Designers, offering constructive feedback to foster growth and skill development. Lead design practice rituals and develop new standards that enhance team efficiency.
• Identify and Solve Bottlenecks: Partner with product and engineering teams to identify bottlenecks, make informed recommendations, and implement improvements that streamline process.
• Drive Clarity from Complexity: Navigate ambiguity with ease, driving clarity and actionable insights from complex situations. Equally, balance user and business needs to create solutions that are impactful and strategic.
• Outstanding Communication and Facilitation: Bring people together through inspiring design and narrative. Foster alignment across teams by effectively communicating a design vision and facilitating collaboration.

Requirements

• Passion for Design: A deep passion for Product Design and UX Design craft; committed to creating meaningful, impactful user experiences.
• Extensive Experience: A minimum of 5‑7 years as a Product Designer in a fast‑paced environment, with at least 2 years leading holistic design as a Staff Product Designer (or equivalent title).
• Multi‑Disciplinary Expertise: Strong skills in UI, UX, and visual design, with a proven track record of crafting functional yet delightful customer experiences. Comfortable working through complex flows, creating engaging interfaces, and storytelling through visuals and prototypes.
• AI: Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies; experience designing AI‑assisted or AI‑powered product experiences or using AI tools as part of your design workflow. A portfolio that includes examples of work related to AI‑powered features, AI‑assisted workflows, or experiments with AI tools.
• Data‑Informed Design: Your design work is deeply rooted in ideation, experimentation and evidence, ensuring that recommendations are always backed by data.
• Comfortable with Ambiguity: Able to work at speed while maintaining high‑quality and thoughtful solutions; driving clarity from complexity and ambiguity.
• Balances User and Business Needs: Equally focused on user experience and business objectives, ensuring that design solutions meet both criteria effectively.
• Strong Communicator and Facilitator: An outstanding communicator who can bring people together, build strong relationships, and gain alignment across teams. Inspires through design and narrative.
• Mentorship Experience: Experienced in mentoring Product Designers, providing guidance that enables them to learn, grow, and progress in their careers.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Builds strong relationships with cross‑functional partners, developing best practices for engagement and collaboration across the organisation.
• Industry Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Payroll and Fintech, with the ability to apply this expertise to deliver impactful design solutions.
• Embedded Team Experience: Experienced in being deeply embedded within a development team, working with a light touch from the Product Manager to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Total Rewards

• Our salary range reflects gross base salary. For commercial roles with commission eligibility, this figure represents On‑Target Earnings (OTE), inclusive of base salary and target commission.
• Salary ranges are quoted in USD as a consistent global reference. Your offer will be localized to your country’s currency using a market‑aligned conversion.
• Final pay is based on objective, job‑related criteria including experience, skills, and location.
• We don't ask about salary history. Offers are based on the role and what you bring to it.
