Job summary

Axelera AI is seeking a Staff AI Application Engineer to build the model enablement platform and decide how models run across Metis or Europa AIPU, host CPUs, and accelerators. You will bridge frontend, graph compiler, runtime and pipeline work and apply AI coding agents to develop, test and verify your solutions.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in systems and compiler domains, strong C++/Python skills, and hands-on experience with heterogeneous computing and ML graph representations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience in systems, compilers, runtimes or performance.
• Hands-on experience with heterogeneous computing across CPU/GPU/DSP/NPU/FPGA.
• Fundamentals in computer architecture, operating systems and parallel programming.
• Familiarity with ML graph representations and compiler concepts: graph capture, lowering, fusion.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
• Daily use of AI coding agents with ability to review and test outputs.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain the model enablement platform and agent harness for model bring-up.
• Own ingestion and placement of PyTorch/ONNX models across heterogeneous units.
• Extend execution across device and host memory for large models and multi-model pipelines.
• Collaborate with graph compiler and runtime teams to optimize end-to-end performance.
• Work with AI coding agents to verify changes and drive quality.
