Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a SSA Senior Engineer to join the Systems and Safety Analysis group in the Belgium/ Nivelles area. Hybrid work arrangement; report to the SSA Manager and support the operation of nuclear power plants through analyses and licensing documentation.

You will work on thermo-hydraulic calculations, dose assessments, and safety codes, contributing to project teams and occasional travel to customer sites or workshops.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering field (asset).
• 7+ years of safety analysis experience for nuclear power plants and systems design.
• Fluent in English with reporting skills.
• Experience with CFD, TRAC/RELAP, GOTHIC and programming skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform engineering tasks to support nuclear power plants' operation, including thermo-hydraulic code inputs and system sizing calculations.
• Develop proficiency in thermo-hydraulic calculations for transient analyses and system evaluations.
• Assess dose calculations and radiological consequences of accidents.
• Run codes for safety analyses and document analyses.
• Propose solutions to technical challenges and help prepare licensing documentation.
• Participate in integrated project teams and travel to customer sites or workshops as needed.

About The Role

As a SSA Senior Engineer, you will be part of the Systems and Safety Analysis group. This group performs engineering evaluations and analyses of technical products and services. These efforts help operate the nuclear power plants in the nuclear safety and performance field. This is a full-time job.

You will report to the SSA Manager and be located at Nivelles. This is a hybrid position.

Main Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of engineering tasks to support nuclear power plants' operation. These tasks include preparation of inputs to run thermo-hydraulic codes for transient analyses. They also include preparation of fluid systems calculations for systems sizing or performances. Additionally, they include calculation of setpoints for nuclear power plants' operation, evaluation of emergency operation procedures changes, and control systems studies, among others.
• Develop proficiency in thermo-hydraulic calculations for transient analyses and for systems evaluations.
• Assessment capability of dose calculations and radiological consequences of accidents.
• Run codes for safety analyses purposes.
• Document analysis.
• Propose solutions to technical challenges that may arise during projects.
• Help prepare licensing documentation.
• Participate to integrated and international project teams and communicate with involved parties.
• Occasionally travel to customer sites or to Industry Group Workshops (to gather or present technical information).
• Knowledge of the Spanish nuclear regulatory body and regulations is an asset.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical or Industrial engineering, Physics; Energy Engineering, Chemical Engineer or Nuclear Engineering an asset.
• More than 7 years of experience in safety analysis for nuclear power plants and systems design.
• Apply fundamental engineering principles (including fluid mechanics and thermodynamics).
• Technical interest, predisposition and understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities required.
• Fluent in English with reporting skills.
• We value experience with codes (CFD, TRAC/RELAP, GOTHIC) and programming skills.
