In4Matic seeks an experienced software architecture professional in Belgium to guide modernization and cloud-native SaaS transitions. You will define direction and connect development, cloud engineering, DevOps, and database expertise.

You will lead architectural decisions, modernize legacy apps for Azure SaaS, and collaborate across teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions while mentoring colleagues and driving best practices.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced software architecture professional to guide the modernization of complex applications. You will define architectural direction, support the transition from legacy environments to cloud-native SaaS solutions, and connect development, cloud engineering, DevOps, and database expertise.

Responsibilities

• Define architectural principles, guidelines, and solution designs for new and existing software initiatives in close collaboration with development teams.
• Streamline and modernize existing applications, supporting their migration to Azure-based SaaS models using technologies such as Azure Kubernetes Service and Azure Container Apps.
• Conduct in-depth technical analyses for complex challenges, including centralized configuration management, identity and access management integrations, and connectivity between on-premises installations and cloud services.
• Coordinate technical implementations across development, cloud and DevOps, and database teams.
• Monitor technology developments and industry best practices, assess their relevance to the organization, and recommend efficient approaches.
• Take ownership of architectural decisions while coaching and inspiring colleagues.

Technical Skills

• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Knowledge of frontend technologies including HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript, and Angular.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure services, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Container Apps, Key Vault, Service Bus, and API Management.
• Familiarity with Kafka and GitHub Actions.
• Understanding of IAM standards and protocols, including OIDC and OAuth 2.0.
• Experience integrating on-premises applications with cloud services.
• Knowledge of COBOL and ISAM environments is a strong advantage.

Profile

• Extensive software development experience, including hands-on engineering and the design of complex system architectures.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert complex technical topics into clear recommendations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills when working with developers and other stakeholders.
• A proactive, hands-on mindset with the confidence to lead technical discussions and take ownership.
• Experience refactoring legacy applications and transforming them into modular, layered architectures is highly valued.
• Willingness to deepen your knowledge across the broader technology stack where required.
