Your Role
At Jan De Nul, our ICT Development team plays a key role in supporting a wide range of dynamic business processes. Through both in-house developed and third-party software, we deliver tailored solutions that meet the evolving needs of the company. As a .NET Software Engineer within our team of application Developers and Analysts, you will be responsible for the development and support of business-critical software used across our central services, shipyards, and vessels.

Your key Responsibilities

  • Translate and interpret functional specifications with a critical and constructive mindset.
  • Provide feedback to improve and refine specifications.
  • Write clean, structured, and testable code.
  • Leverage existing class libraries and include meaningful comments for clarity and maintainability.
  • Follow established design principles, coding standards, and conventions.
  • Use modeling languages to understand and implement analyses.
  • Continuously build knowledge of the business domain and explore emerging technologies.
  • Deliver technical support for developed applications.

You will work from within our centralized ICT-team based in Belgium, Hofstade/Aalst where you can count on a stimulating work environment, a competitive salary, and a comprehensive benefits package — including the option to lease a company car.

You have at least five years of professional experience in software development. You possess a good knowledge and can speak fluently in Dutch, considered a prerequisite for this role. You have solid expertise in .NET (Core) with C#, web development frameworks such as Blazor and Angular, and RESTful web services using ASP.NET Web API. You are also proficient in SQL and stored procedures. Experience with offline applications, WinForms, data synchronization, scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, PowerShell), reporting tools (e.g., Crystal Reports, Power BI), and architectural concepts like Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) is considered a strong advantage.
