About the Role

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Social Media Manager to support strategic communication activities within a European Institution environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing engaging digital content, with a particular focus on video production for social media, while contributing to channel management, community engagement, performance analysis, and social media strategy.

This position requires a creative and proactive professional capable of transforming complex institutional topics into compelling digital content, while ensuring compliance with established communication, branding, accessibility, and editorial guidelines.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and adapt engaging social media content tailored to different platforms, audiences, and communication objectives.
• Lead the creation of multimedia content, with a particular focus on filming, editing, and optimizing short-form videos for social media.
• Draft compelling copy for posts, captions, video scripts, community interactions, and other digital communication formats.
• Coordinate the development of visual assets, animations, and infographics in collaboration with designers and communication stakeholders.
• Plan and manage editorial calendars, schedule content publication, and ensure efficient day-to-day management of social media channels.
• Contribute to social media strategies by identifying target audiences, content opportunities, platform trends, and innovative approaches to increase engagement and visibility.
• Provide expert advice on campaign planning, content performance, and the effective use of paid social media promotion.
• Monitor social media conversations, support community management activities, and identify emerging topics, audience feedback, or reputational risks.
• Collaborate closely with communication teams, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to ensure consistent and impactful messaging.
• Track, analyze, and report on social media performance, delivering data-driven recommendations for continuous optimization and improvement.
• Ensure all activities comply with branding, accessibility, editorial, copyright, data protection, and institutional communication guidelines.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communication, Digital Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in social media management, digital communications, or content creation.
• Proven expertise in social media strategy, content creation, and video production.
• Strong copywriting, storytelling, and community management skills.
• Experience with social media analytics, reporting, and performance optimization.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders in an international environment.
• Knowledge of accessibility, copyright, data protection, and digital communication best practices.
• Excellent command of English; additional EU languages are an asset.
• Previous experience within European Institutions is considered a strong asset.
