Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced Site Engineer – AC Substation to join our client's major offshore energy infrastructure project in Vlissingen, Netherlands.
The role supports the construction and outfitting of AC substation modules as part of the Princess Elisabeth Island project. The Site Engineer will work closely with the Construction Manager, Engineering team, Contractor, inspectors, vendors and O&M team to ensure the successful execution of site activities, with a strong focus on safety, quality and electromechanical engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Construction Manager in managing site activities and ensuring safety and quality priorities are maintained.
- Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for engineering queries, particularly related to electromechanical topics.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including E&I and Mechanical Inspectors, Welding & Coating Inspectors, Safety Inspectors, Outfitting Engineers, Design Engineers and Construction Managers.
- Support coordination between the site team, Contractor and O&M team.
- Take technical ownership of electromechanical issues arising during site outfitting and elevate major issues when required.
- Act as a technical knowledge centre for inspectors and maintain a strong understanding of contractor documentation and Employer Requirements.
- Lead and follow up on quality topics, non-conformities and quality processes.
- Maintain internal systems and processes for managing inspection reports and ensuring effective communication with the EPC Contractor and site team.
- Coordinate and participate in site inspections.
- Review technical and project documentation submitted by the contractor.
- Coordinate client vendors visiting the site together with project leaders and the Construction Manager.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reports in collaboration with the Construction Lead.
- Support additional project activities, including cost-benefit analysis of technical variants.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Must Have
- Engineering background in Electrical Engineering and/or Electromechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Strong experience in site engineering, construction or engineering project environments.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of safety and quality requirements on construction sites.
- Excellent MS Office skills, particularly for preparing structured reports and managing inspection documentation.
